The Hornzmen are Andrew Friedlander (saxophone) and Jason Holcomb (trombone).
As two of the finest instrumentalist Las Vegas has to offer, Andrew and Jason have been performing together for almost a decade. They have been in high demand as individual performers as well as members of a larger horn section, performing with groups such as Michael Grimm (winner of America’s Got Talent), Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, The Zowie Bowie Big Band, and Dominic Allen (formerly of the rock group Foreigner). In 2008 they decided to create The Hornzmen as a creative outlet featuring music that they loved and could play in a style all their own. The pair combined funk, soul, rock, and jazz into an exciting blend, and put together a list of songs that can only be described as powerful.
Since its conception the group has maintained very busy corporate performance schedule. The Hornzmen have played in most of the major casinos in Las Vegas, including Mandalay Bay, The Venetian, The Bellagio, and Aria at City Center to name a few. They have performed with and opened for Blake Sheldon, Glenn Fry and Joe Walsh, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The Hornzmen perform with intense gritty energy and amazing virtuosity. Their set lists typically include songs such as 25 or 6 to 4 from Chicago, Superstition from Stevie Wonder, and September from Earth, Wind and Fire.
The group can perform with a 5 to 10 piece band, as a duo, or with a DJ scratching behind them adding a unique contemporary texture to the performance.
Most recently the pair can be found performing and recording with international superstar Matt Goss. In September 2011 they recorded a live performance with Matt at Capitol Records in Los Angeles and in October performed for a second time a sold out show at The Royal Albert Hall in London.
